"My message is one of hope and positive change. Change can only come by making the hard decisions that the other candidates would rather ignore. I cannot ignore the dire situation the country, our senior citizens, and our veterans are in. How can we continue to spend and spend while our government is about to collapse under bankruptcy, as the Soviet Union did in the 1980s? We can get back on track, but we must act now!"

Ron Paul and the Constitution PDF Print E-mail
The main issue that people fail to understand with Ron Paul is that he will not vote for any bill that violates the Constitution, the law of the land. It is incredible how easily people and the media dismiss the Constitution as old and not mendable to the times, while nothing can be further from the truth. The Constitution was specifically written to limit the power and authority of the federal government to prevent it from taking liberties, freedom, and the opportunity for prosperity from the people and the states. It was also written as a living document that clearly allowed it to adapt to the times by allowing it to change with amendments that coincided with the will of the people and states (and not just corruptable politicians). Those who state the Constitution is irrelevant or just a piece of paper like George W Bush says, are either corrupt or hypocrites who also say they are law abiding. For instance, many believe the Bill of Rights lay out specific rights to people, but if you read it (and you do have a copy as a citizen that you can refer to, right?) it actually dictates specifically everything the federal government can not do to try to take away rights, and that the rights are inalienable and not limited to what's listed, as all other rights are limited to the people and the states. The more bills passed by Republicans and Democrats that violate these laws and our rights and expand the role of government, the more liberty we lose and the closer to a statist tyranny government we move to. The founding fathers were very wise, as they saw and understood how quickly an unchecked central government like we have today can lead to the loss of liberty and prosperity for its people.

Fix High Gas Prices and the Economy PDF Print E-mail
The dollar has lost 90% of its value since the 1950's, and where 20 years ago a single income was enough to sustain a family, two incomes is barely enough today.  To save the economy, we will stop wasting money overseas, balance the budget,  reduce taxes, and have a solid monetary policy that promotes savings over debt that we pass over to our future generations.

Save Social Security, Medicare, and Veteran Benefits PDF Print E-mail

Every year Congress loots over $150 billion of your Social Security, Medicare, and Veteran benefits to pay for its deficit spending, creating a future debt of $53 trillion ($400K per household) to meet our obligations to you.  Let's keep our promises to our seniors and veterans, by  forcing Congress to keep this money in the Trust Funds.

Help Family Farmers compete by reducing regulations PDF Print E-mail

Small farmers are overly regulated, which makes it nearly impossible to compete with mega-farms which receive over 60% of the benefits.  Small farmers allow safe, local, and organic food to be made available regionally at low transportation costs.

Stop Wasting Money Overseas! PDF Print E-mail

Reduce Wasteful Spending Overseas

The federal government sends over $300 billion overseas in foreign aid each year. Many people are helped by our foreign aid and the good will earned by it is priceless. However, too much of that foreign aid never gets to the people we intend to help because it is intercepted by tyrants, warlords, and corrupt governments. Congress needs to reign in the wasteful spending and redirect that money back home.

Scale Back Our Overseas Presence PDF Print E-mail
While the US has lost the majority of its manufacturing and industry jobs, it still excels at having the strongest and finest Armed Forces in the world, making it our biggest export. Our troops are brave, loyal, and honorable: the best of the best. We now have over half a million soldiers in over 700 bases in over 130 countries around the world, costing the American taxpayer hundreds of billions of dollars a year. Our soldiers spend into those foreign economies, essentially subsidizing the economies of those countries through the American taxpayer. Many of those countries are the richest in the world, including Germany, Japan, and Korea. Its time we re-evaluate our post-Cold War Strategic initiatives and scale back our presence overseas so that we maintain our global military strategic advantage while staying economically strong at home. If we do not do something now, within 20 years, the US will not have the funds to keep any troops overseas.

Iraq War PDF Print E-mail
Whether you were in favor or against the Iraq War, the self evident truth is that the American taxpayer cannot afford to pay roughly $15 billion each month. The war has a price tag of $3 Trillion and growing. Most of this money is being borrowed from Communist China and Saudi Arabia, where 15 of the 19 hijackers on 9/11 came from. On our crusade to protect our national security and spread democracy, our administration has put the United States in financial jeopardy which is now the greatest threat to our national security. The risk of economic collapse at home far outweighs the chaos that the current administration proclaims will occur in the Middle East if we return our troops sooner rather than later.
