Ron Paul and the Constitution
The main issue that people fail to understand with Ron Paul is that he will not vote for any bill that violates the Constitution, the law of the land. It is incredible how easily people and the media dismiss the Constitution as old and not mendable to the times, while nothing can be further from the truth. The Constitution was specifically written to limit the power and authority of the federal government to prevent it from taking liberties, freedom, and the opportunity for prosperity from the people and the states. It was also written as a living document that clearly allowed it to adapt to the times by allowing it to change with amendments that coincided with the will of the people and states (and not just corruptable politicians). Those who state the Constitution is irrelevant or just a piece of paper like George W Bush says, are either corrupt or hypocrites who also say they are law abiding. For instance, many believe the Bill of Rights lay out specific rights to people, but if you read it (and you do have a copy as a citizen that you can refer to, right?) it actually dictates specifically everything the federal government can not do to try to take away rights, and that the rights are inalienable and not limited to what's listed, as all other rights are limited to the people and the states. The more bills passed by Republicans and Democrats that violate these laws and our rights and expand the role of government, the more liberty we lose and the closer to a statist tyranny government we move to. The founding fathers were very wise, as they saw and understood how quickly an unchecked central government like we have today can lead to the loss of liberty and prosperity for its people.

That is why Ron Paul is one of the only people in Congress who actually obeys his oath to defend and uphold the Constitution of the United States. We do not have the authority to be the policemen of the world. Many of the world's problems were created by the interference of the US (through the CIA, IMF, WTO, UN, or unconstitutional invasions, etc) including Bosnia, Africa, the Middle East, and South America. Most Americans do not understand these organizations, or truly understand the consequences of these organizations interfering with other countries (and our own) political and economic climates. The CIA disposes of many Democratic governments and replaces them with dictators, which leads to blowback such as overthrowing the Democratic Iranian government in 1959 and placing the puppet Shah in its place. The IMF, WHO, and WTO are supposed to help impoverished nations, but every country they touch overtime becomes significantly worse off. Countries that used to export food, now have to import food because their farms are nationalized, fertilizers are denied, and all the aid for poverty goes to government dictators. They get hooked on massive loans from the IMF (its the Federal Reserve equivalent of the world), and are addicted like crack cocaine, requiring more and more until they no longer can pay for interests and require bailouts. Think Argentina, Zimbabwe, Sudan, Ethiopia, etc.

The US is in the same boat ever since the creation of the Federal Reserve in 1913 (which was passed like the Patriot Act, only worse during Christmas break when most Senators were on break). What most people do not know is that the Federal Reserve is not a government agency (they are as Federal as Federal Express, and they do not have any reserves). It is a private corporation controlled by a cartel of international and domestic banks with no Congressional oversight or audits, secret meetings, and their membership is hidden. It was designed by the 6 wealthiest people of the time that represented 25% of the world's wealth at the time. It was designed to prevent the expansion of competing banks and to put the full liability of their operations on the American taxpayer. Before the Federal Reserve, currency was only created by the United States Treasury (United States Notes) and backed by a stable commodity such as gold and silver which for over 160 years stopped inflation to be only a few cents fluctuation. Afterwards, Congress delegated this authority (which is unConstitutional) to these unregulated private banks by issuing Treasuries (IOUS) to the Federal Reserve, in return they print Federal Reserve Notes which the US Government (you, the tax payer) has to pay interest on. Yes, under the Constitution, we do not have to pay interest for the simple act of creating currency. Under the Federal Reserve, most of the income tax we pay today goes to paying this interest (not build roads, pay for schools, go to war, etc.). That is why the Income Tax and IRS was also passed in 1913. Before that, it was unConstitutional and considered immoral to tax direct wages for services. The government made money from corporate taxes, use fees, etc. Today income tax represents 40% of the federal governments revenue, if we were to eliminate it, we would have to reduce our spending to 1997 levels when Clinton was in office. JFK was against the Federal Reserve and issued United States greenbacks that were not Federal Reserve Notes. Unfortunately, they were quickly removed from circulation the year after he was assasinated.

The stated intention of the Federal Reserve was to stop the booms and busts of the market and to stabilize inflation. If there was any organization in the world that was the biggest failure time after time in trying to achieve its goals, there is none worse than the Federal Reserve. Booms and busts became much worse. The crash of 1929 would have just lead to a one to two year recession, but it was the Federal Reserve along with major government interference from Hoover and FDR that led it to the worse Depression the world has ever seen. Since the creation of the Federal Reserve, massive inflation occurred, making the dollar drop over 95% since 1913. When FDR removed us from the gold standard and confiscated all the gold in the 30s, it was the first step towards a fiat currency. After WWII and Bretton Woods, the dollar was backed by gold, but only to other nations. In 1971, Nixon removed us completely from the gold standard, and the literal creation of money from thin air occurred. Througout history, every nation and great empire that moved to a fiat currency collapsed economically, 100% of the time. We are seeing the effects now.

Twenty years ago, a single income was enough to sustain a family, today two incomes is barely enough and its getting worse. The highest standard of living and the highest wages in the US (when you take inflation into account) were in the 1970s. Since then, it was gone down due to massive inflation. Because of the explosion in size of government and massive government spending, we are the equivalent of a banana republic in terms of our ratio of debt compared to the rest of the world. We are already highly taxed that most Americans pay for Fed, State, Social Security, Medical, tolls, and local taxes through July 17th before any money they earn is truly theirs. We borrow from communist China and Saudi Arabia (where 15 of the 19 9/11 terrorists originated from), but soon that will end. The only way we can pay for our out of control government is by printing money out of thin air from the Federal Reserve and paying interest to them that our children and grandchildren will be paying for the rest of their lives. This is the worse kind of tax that affects the poor, middle class, and seniors with fixed income the worse, its the inflation tax. Just like basic economies that a 4th grader learns, when you flood a commodity or currency, it loses its value, which leads to prices going up. We became a debt rather than a savings society, since saving money actually loses value quickly. ($10K in the 1960s would buy a house, if it was hidden in a matress until today, it would not even give you a down payment). The inflation numbers given by the government is a farce, since it changed its reporting standards continuously since 1980. People earn less every year, hence why people have to work more to make ends meet.

We need to end the Federal Reserve and restore the power to coin money (backed from gold, silver, or other commodities) to Congress like the Constitution requires. There is absolutely no need for the tax payer to pay interest to banks for the creation of money from its own government. This is the transfer of wealth from the poor and middle class to the top 1%.

Ron Pauls views are the same of all good Americans, liberals and conservatives (not Neo-Cons and Neo-Libs who currently control the two parties), he was to provide individual freedom and liberty to all no matter race, sex, or creed. With sound money, we move towards eliminating global poverty rather than expanding it. We eliminate corporate welfare and subsidies, which lead to monopolies that destroy free market, competition, better customer service, and fair pricing.

But we also need to drastically reduce federal spending to make sure we are not passing our debt to our children and grandchildren. We have over 700 bases in over 130 countries, including 30K troops in Japan and 50K in Germany. Why are we subsidizing the defense of these rich countries, and have our troops spending their incomes in these foreign economies? Not including the wars, these cost us nearly $1 trillion a year for our empire, and hurts national security because we are spread so thin. Why not bring them home to defend our borders or have these countries pay for this protection. Why do we have an empire?

We also need to cut spending domestically. Because of our deficit spending, Congress (both Democrats and Republicans equally) have been looting the Social Security and Medicare trust funds for over 40 years, up to $150 billion a year towards the general budget. According to the Government Accountability Office, this has lead to a $53.3 trillion deficit of future liabilities in our entitlement programs, or over $400,000 per household that your children and grandchildren will be paying for the rest of their lives (even if they haven't been born yet). Talk about being born into slavery. This is the equivalent of stealing from the pension plans, and Congress should be sent to jail for this (all but Ron Paul and a handful who vote against this every year). Yes, your favorite Democrat and Republican is probably guilty of this lawful crime. How can we trust a government to take care of health care when it steals from senior citizens for over 40 years? By 2019, Medicare will be bankrupt, and the only way to pay for it is massive increase in taxes and printing money out of thin air, causing even more inflation and sending millions into poverty.

Finally we need to get rid of other departments that have failed i its mission since inception. The United States used to be number one in education for science, math, and reading. That was before Nixon created the Department of Education. The concept was that states were not providing equal education (ie NY versus Mississippi), and that a standard was needed to level the playing field. Of course this was completely unConstitutional, as the Federal Government has no authority to interfere with education, a power and right given to the states. Since the inception of the Department of Education, the United States has fallen to be last among all Industrial Nations in science, math, and reading. Its budget has grown significantly, even under Bush. It has leveled the playing field for education, to its lowest common denominator. The problem lies that decisions are now made by Washington bureaucrats thousands of miles away from the children, rather than by parents, teachers, and local communities. Children no longer learn to think, but learn to pass standardized tests. We need to eliminate the Department of Education and give the power back to you, the parents.

Another example is the Department of Agriculture and its subsidies. Unconstitutional. Small farmers are still poor, but over 70% of the subsidies goes to millionaires and mega-corporations. Competition is removed, food standards are deteriating, Farmers rights are lost with NAIS (Real-ID for Cows and sheep, which cost more for small farmers than mega-corporations) and stringent laws and regulations prevent them from competing. We subsidize corn for ethanol as an energy alternative, which is horribley inefficient, caused food shortages, and increased food prices. Government does not do a good job based on what's best for the people, but rather whats best for the best paying lobbyist no matter whether if its Democrats or Republicans. There are some good Constitutional government agencies, but you have to look at the true long term results of all the other agencies (think New Deal) and its impact.

One big mistake is that people make is confusing the definition of regulation and think deregulation is bad. We must understand that Ron Paul and true conservatives believe regulation is needed for transparency and to combat fraud (like in the derivatives markets). For instance, if we do not eliminate the federal Reserve like we should, it should be regulated with full transparency (where do our bailout dollars go, what is the M3 Money supply, board meetings should be televised, its member banks should be made public, etc). Where conservatives draw the line are regulations that interfere with free markets that create unfair advantages to one group over another (such as FCC creating Media monopolies, FDA creating pharmeceutical monopolies, oil subsidies, telecom/utility monopoies, HMO monpolies, agriculture monopolies, etc). We hate corporate welfare and regulations that destroy free markets. Again, we are okay with regulations that providetransparency and prevent fraud.

The government has grown over 40% under Bush, a Neo Conservative (which means new conservative, as in not conservative). If we bring back spending to the Clinton era, we can eliminate Income tax and bring true prosperity to this country. We can bring back jobs to build real assets. The end goals of a Ron Paul Republican and most liberals and conservatives are the same. We want what is best for the country and our people, protecting our inalienable rights. We want to see poverty eliminated, we want equal opportunity, we want freedom.

I ask all of you to have an open mind and look deeper than what is told. Do a google search. Look at the audited Federal budget to see real numbers at the Government Accountability Office (www.gao.gov), not the crap that the government shells out that is half the actual deficit because it does not include government pension plans or any entitlement programs. If anything, read "Creature from Jekyll Island" by G. Edward Griffen and understand what the Federal Reserve actually is (the root of all our economic problems and wars). http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0912986395?ie=UTF8&tag=stevvasqforco-20&linkCode=as2&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=0912986395
